Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sour cream, lemon juice, granulated sugar, dried dill, and salt. Stir until well mixed, then set aside to let the flavors meld.
  • Peel the cucumber if desired for a softer texture. Slice the cucumber into thin rounds. Cut the red onion into thin slices to ensure even distribution in the salad.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cucumber slices, red onion, and the prepared dressing. Stir gently to coat all pieces evenly with the dressing.
  • Allow the salad to sit for 5-10 minutes to let the flavors develop. Give it another stir before serving to ensure the dressing is evenly distributed.

Notes

Use fresh cucumbers for the best crunch. Feel free to add fresh dill or parsley for additional flavor. Adjust sweetness to taste based on your preference. Store in the fridge and stir before serving.
