Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Milk, warmed to about 110 degrees F
  • 0.25 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 6 tablespoons Butter, softened
  • 1 piece Egg, room temperature
  • 4-4.5 cups All Purpose Flour or Bread Flour
  • 1-2 teaspoons Salt Balances sweetness and enhances flavor; use 2 teaspoons if using unsalted butter.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Allow the mixture to sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  • Add the egg, softened butter, and 1 cup of flour mixed with the salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Gradually add the remaining flour until the dough forms a ball that feels soft to the touch.
  • Grease a large bowl with oil. Place the dough inside, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Once the dough has risen, deflate it gently and divide it into 15 equal balls.
  • Place the rolls into a greased baking dish. Cover them with a damp cloth and let them rise for another hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  • Brush the baked rolls with melted butter for extra flavor and softness.

Notes

  • Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
  • Thaw and warm in the oven before serving.
  • Use a warm oven for rising if the kitchen is cool.
