Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F and place a pizza stone in the oven to warm for at least 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly and frothy.
Gently stir in the olive oil to enrich the dough.
Add 2 cups of flour and the salt to the mixture. Mix until a dough ball begins to form, then add more flour as needed for consistency.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth, adding extra flour if sticky.
Optionally, cover the bowl with a damp towel and let the dough rise for 10 minutes to 1 hour for enhanced flavor and texture.
Roll out the dough into your desired shape on parchment paper.
Top the rolled-out dough with pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings of your choice.
Transfer the topped pizza to the preheated pizza stone and bake for 11-14 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting. Serve hot.
